Okement

Okement is a river in Devon, England. It rises on Dartmoor and flows northward for approximately 18 miles before joining the River Taw near Tawton. The river passes through several villages and towns, including Okehampton, from which it takes its name. The Okement is a popular destination for anglers, particularly for salmon and trout fishing.

The Okement is divided into two main sections: the East Okement River and the West Okement River. Both tributaries originate on the northern slopes of Dartmoor. The East Okement flows past the village of Throwleigh and through Okehampton Park. The West Okement runs through the Black Tor area and is known for its dramatic gorge. The two rivers converge a short distance north of Okehampton.
