Oiosis is a term coined by Erwin Chargaff, a Romanian-American biochemist, in the 1950s. It refers to the resemblance between the nucleotide composition of different biological molecules, such as DNA and RNA, and the chemical structure of certain compounds found in seaweed and other marine organisms.
