Ohjestimmen, also known as "object pronouns" in English, are pronouns used to replace nouns that serve as the direct or indirect object of a verb. In Finnish, these pronouns are used to indicate the object of a sentence, distinguishing them from subject pronouns, which indicate the subject. The object pronouns in Finnish include *minua*, *sinua*, *hänestä*, *meitä*, *teitä*, and *heitä*, corresponding to first, second, third person singular and plural forms, respectively.

The use of object pronouns is essential in Finnish grammar to avoid ambiguity and to clarify the role of the noun or pronoun within a sentence. For example, in the sentence "En näe häntä," the pronoun *hänestä* replaces a noun like "he" or "she" and serves as the direct object of the verb "näkeä" (to see). Without the object pronoun, the sentence could be ambiguous or grammatically incorrect.

Object pronouns in Finnish also undergo case changes depending on their function within the sentence. For instance, *minua* is the partitive form used for singular objects, while *meitä* is the partitive plural form. This distinction is crucial for proper sentence construction and understanding.

In addition to direct and indirect objects, object pronouns can also be used in other grammatical contexts, such as after prepositions or in certain verb constructions. For example, the phrase "minulle" combines the genitive form of the object pronoun *minua* with the preposition *lle* (to me). This flexibility allows Finnish to express complex relationships between nouns and verbs concisely.
