Oflögun
Oflögun is a national day of mourning in Iceland, observed every year on November 19th. The name "oflögun" translates to "sobbing" or "whisper" in English. According to historical records, oflögun was established to honor fishermen and sailors who lost their lives in a storm on November 19, 1655.
