Odywczo

Odywczo is a small town and commune in the central Lowlands of the fictional nation of Liravia. It lies along the Ody River and covers about 22 square kilometers. The latest census records a population of roughly 3,900. The name Odywczo is believed to derive from a regional river name Ody and the Slavic suffix -wcz(o), indicating a place associated with that river.

Odywczo originated in the medieval period as a market village serving nearby farms. It received town rights in the 15th century, endured periodic fires, and expanded after the arrival of a railway in the late 19th century.

The town sits in a flat to gently rolling landscape with wooded river margins. Its economy centers on agriculture—grains, vegetables, and dairy—and small-scale manufacturing, including woodworking and food processing. A weekly market and local crafts sustain employment and attract visitors.

Notable sites include the Church of Saint Nicholas (15th century), a restored windmill, and the 19th‑century town hall. The Harvest Festival in autumn and a midsummer music event are regional draws.

Odywczo is governed by a municipal council and a mayor elected for four years. It belongs to the Grendel District and coordinates with neighboring towns on infrastructure and cultural programs.
