OKT4

OKT4 is a monoclonal antibody that targets the CD4 molecule, a glycoprotein found on the surface of certain immune cells, most notably T helper cells. CD4 acts as a coreceptor for the T cell receptor (TCR), playing a crucial role in T cell activation and immune responses. By binding to CD4, OKT4 can interfere with the interaction between the TCR and the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules, thereby inhibiting T cell activation and proliferation.

This antibody has been widely used in research settings to study the function of CD4+ T cells, their involvement in various immune processes, and their contribution to diseases.
