OB5
OB5, also known as OB5-1, is a young, massive star located in the Orion Nebula. It is a B-type star and is a member of the Orion OB1 association, a group of young, hot stars that are thought to have formed together. OB5 is one of the most massive and luminous stars in the Orion Nebula, and its intense radiation is believed to be responsible for ionizing the surrounding gas and dust, creating the bright H II regions that are characteristic of the nebula.
The star was discovered in 1957 by astronomer W.W. Morgan. Its distance from Earth is estimated to
OB5 plays a significant role in the study of star formation and the evolution of massive stars.
