Nyomóoldalon

Nyomóoldalon is a Hungarian term that translates to "pressure side" in English. It refers to the side of a fluid flow in a dynamic system where the pressure is higher. This concept is fundamental in understanding fluid mechanics, particularly in the operation of pumps, turbines, and airfoils.

In the context of pumps, the nyomóoldalon is the discharge side where the fluid exits at an elevated pressure after having energy added to it by the pump's impeller. Conversely, the suction side is where the fluid enters at a lower pressure. For turbines, the nyomóoldalon is where the high-pressure fluid impinges on the turbine blades, causing rotation and extracting energy. The lower pressure side is then the exhaust.

For airfoils, such as airplane wings, the nyomóoldalon describes the surface where the air pressure is relatively higher. This higher pressure on the lower surface, combined with lower pressure on the upper surface, generates lift. The pressure difference is a direct consequence of the airflow pattern around the airfoil.
