Nup85
Nup85, also known as Nuclear Pore Complex Protein 85, is a component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). The NPC is a large protein structure that spans the nuclear envelope in eukaryotic cells, regulating the transport of molecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Nup85 is a transmembrane protein and plays a crucial role in the structural integrity and assembly of the NPC.
It belongs to the larger family of nucleoporins, which are the proteins that make up the NPC.
