Nup100p
Nup100p is a protein found in yeast that plays a crucial role in the nuclear pore complex (NPC). The NPC is a large protein assembly that spans the nuclear envelope, regulating the transport of molecules between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Nup100p is a component of the nuclear basket, a structure located on the nuclear side of the NPC. It is a highly conserved protein, meaning it is found in many different organisms with similar structures and functions.
The precise function of Nup100p within the NPC is still an active area of research. However, studies
