Nuffield

Nuffield is a village and civil parish in the West Oxfordshire district of Oxfordshire, England. It is situated on the River Windrush, approximately five miles southwest of Witney and twelve miles west of Oxford. The village has a history dating back to the Anglo-Saxon period, with evidence of Roman settlement in the area.

The name "Nuffield" is believed to derive from the Old English "Nudefeld," meaning "Nud's open land." The village's ecclesiastical parish church, St. Mary the Virgin, is a Grade I listed building with parts dating from the 12th century. Nuffield Manor, a historic house, is also a notable landmark in the area.
