Nucleosomin

Nucleosomin is a protein complex involved in the regulation of chromatin assembly and DNA replication. It is a highly conserved component of the nuclear pore complex and plays a crucial role in the transport of proteins and RNA between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The nucleosomin complex is composed of three subunits: nucleosomin 1 (Nus1), nucleosomin 2 (Nus2), and nucleosomin 3 (Nus3). These subunits work together to form a stable complex that interacts with various proteins involved in nuclear transport, including importins and exportins.

Nus1 is the largest subunit and contains a number of coiled-coil domains that are important for protein-protein interactions. Nus2 is a smaller subunit that interacts with Nus1 and plays a role in the assembly of the nucleosomin complex. Nus3 is the smallest subunit and is thought to be involved in the regulation of nucleosomin activity.

Nucleosomin has been shown to interact with a variety of proteins involved in DNA replication, including PCNA and RPA. This interaction suggests that nucleosomin may play a role in the coordination of DNA replication and nuclear transport. In addition, nucleosomin has been implicated in the regulation of gene expression through its interaction with chromatin remodeling factors.
