Nordwestmecklenburg
Nordwestmecklenburg is a rural district (Landkreis) in the northern part of the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It lies along the Baltic coast and is characterized by a mix of historic towns, coastal resort areas, and rural landscapes. The administrative seat of the district is Grevesmühlen, while its largest town by population is Wismar, a Hanseatic city with a well-preserved historic center and a working port. The district also includes seaside resorts such as Boltenhagen and other coastal municipalities, as well as inland communities near the Schweriner See region.
