Nonrepresentativity

Nonrepresentativity refers to a situation where a sample or group does not accurately reflect the characteristics of the larger population it is intended to represent. This can occur in various contexts, including research studies, surveys, and even political bodies. For instance, a scientific study that relies on a participant pool composed primarily of young, healthy individuals may suffer from nonrepresentativity if it aims to draw conclusions about the general population, which includes people of all ages and health statuses.

In statistical sampling, nonrepresentativity can lead to biased results.
