Nomináljövedelmet refers to the nominal income, which is the amount of money earned before accounting for inflation. It is the actual amount of money received, without any adjustments for changes in the purchasing power of currency over time. For example, if a person earns 1000 units of currency in one year and 1100 units in the next, their nominal income has increased by 10%.

This is distinct from real income, which adjusts for inflation. If the inflation rate between the two years was 7%, then the real income increase would only be approximately 3% (1100/1.07 - 1000). Nominal income is often used in wage negotiations and when reporting salary figures, as it represents the stated amount of earnings. However, for understanding an individual's or economy's true economic well-being and purchasing power, real income is a more accurate measure. Changes in nominal income can be due to various factors including wage increases, bonuses, or changes in the number of hours worked, irrespective of the broader economic conditions related to price levels. Understanding the difference between nominal and real income is crucial for economic analysis and personal financial planning.
