Nohrs

Nohrs is a fictional town and municipality in the Nordmark region of the country Valoria. It lies on a coastal plain at the mouth of the Nohr River, facing the Silver Sea. The town covers about 42 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 12,000 in 2023.

The name Nohrs derives from Old Norse elements interpreted as "north" and "shore." The settlement developed from a medieval fishing hamlet into a market town centered on harbor trade. Industrial growth in the 19th and 20th centuries enlarged its shipyards and milling facilities, shaping its urban landscape.

Today Nohrs has a mixed economy that blends maritime heritage with services and light manufacturing. The harbor remains central, hosting a marina, a small cargo terminal, and a weekly fish market. Nohrs is served by the Nordmark regional rail line and a coastal road network, with a ferry link to nearby towns.

Cultural life in Nohrs includes the annual Sea Festival, a maritime museum, and a civic library. The Nohrs University of Applied Sciences offers programs in engineering, business, and environmental studies, while several primary and secondary schools serve the town's residents. Local government operates a council with a mayor.
