Njihimare

Njihimare is a small town and commune in Tirana County, Albania. It is located in the northern part of the county, approximately 56 kilometers north of Tirana, the capital city of Albania.

The commune of Njihimare covers a total area of 29.23 square kilometers and has a population of around 4,700 people. The town itself is situated at an elevation of 755 meters above sea level. The local economy is primarily based on agriculture, with many families engaged in farming and animal husbandry.

The area is characterized by a mountainous terrain, with the surrounding landscape dominated by the Albanian Alps. The Shkumbin River, one of the longest rivers in Albania, passes through the commune. The region's natural environment is rich in flora and fauna, and the commune is home to several protected areas, including the Njihimare Forest.

Njihimare has a strong cultural heritage, with a mix of Illyrian and Ottoman influences. The town's architecture reflects the traditional Albanian style, with many stone-built houses and buildings.
