Niederschlienz

Niederschlienz is a village and a former municipality in the district of Görlitz, in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It is located approximately 15 kilometers east of Görlitz and 10 kilometers west of Zittau. The village is situated in the Upper Lusatian Highlands, a region known for its hilly terrain and rich cultural heritage.

Historically, Niederschlienz was part of the Duchy of Saxony and later became part of the Kingdom of Saxony. The village has a long-standing agricultural tradition and is known for its picturesque landscape, which includes forests, meadows, and small streams. The local economy has traditionally been based on farming and forestry, with some residents also involved in tourism due to the area's natural beauty.

In 1994, Niederschlienz was incorporated into the municipality of Neißeaue, which was later renamed Neiße-Malxetal.
