Neutronitäjissä

Neutronitäjissä is a Finnish term that translates to "neutron stars" in English. Neutron stars are the extremely dense, collapsed cores of massive stars that have exploded as supernovae. They are remnants of stars that were once significantly larger than our Sun.

The defining characteristic of a neutron star is its incredible density. A teaspoonful of neutron star material would weigh billions of tons on Earth. This extreme density is a result of gravity crushing protons and electrons together to form neutrons. The star is essentially a giant atomic nucleus.

Neutron stars are incredibly small, typically only about 20 kilometers (12 miles) in diameter, yet they can have masses greater than that of our Sun. They spin very rapidly, often hundreds of times per second, and possess extremely strong magnetic fields.

Some neutron stars emit beams of electromagnetic radiation from their magnetic poles. If these beams sweep across Earth as the star rotates, we observe them as regular pulses of radiation, leading to the classification of these objects as pulsars. While the term "täjissä" might suggest a plural or diminutive form, in this context, "neutronitäjissä" refers to the general concept or phenomenon of neutron stars.
