Neutrofiilisen

Neutrofiilisen is a Finnish adjective meaning "neutrophilic." It is primarily used in a medical context to describe cells or processes that are attracted to and stained by neutral dyes. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell, a crucial component of the innate immune system. They are characterized by their multi-lobed nucleus and granular cytoplasm, which stains with both acidic and basic dyes. When referring to the blood or bone marrow, "neutrofiilisen" might describe an increase in the number of neutrophils, a condition known as neutrophilia. This elevation can be a sign of infection, inflammation, or other medical conditions. Conversely, a decrease in neutrophils is called neutropenia, and "neutrofiilisen" would not be used to describe this state.
