Nedströmstrycket

Nedströmstrycket, also known as the Nedström effect, is a phenomenon in fluid dynamics where a pressure difference is created between two points in a fluid flow due to the presence of a solid boundary. This effect is named after the Swedish engineer and scientist Erik August Gabrielsson Nedström, who first described it in the early 20th century.

The Nedström effect occurs when a fluid flows over a solid surface, such as a pipe or a channel. The fluid near the surface experiences a higher pressure than the fluid further away from the surface. This pressure difference is caused by the no-slip condition at the boundary, where the fluid velocity is zero relative to the surface. This creates a velocity gradient within the fluid, leading to a pressure gradient and, consequently, a pressure difference.

The Nedström effect has significant implications in various engineering applications, including the design of pipelines, channels, and other fluid flow systems. Understanding and accounting for this effect is crucial for optimizing flow rates, reducing energy losses, and ensuring the efficient operation of these systems.
