Nbutylamine

n-Butylamine, also known as 1-aminobutane, is an organic amine with the formula C4H11N. It is a primary aliphatic amine consisting of a straight four-carbon chain bearing an amino group (CH3–CH2–CH2–CH2–NH2). Production and synthesis: Industrially, n-butylamine is mainly produced by hydrogenation of butanenitrile, which is derived from butenes, or by reductive amination of butyraldehyde with ammonia. Uses: It serves as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of a variety of compounds, including N-substituted amines, amides, and other nitrogen-containing chemicals. It is used in the manufacture of surfactants, rubber accelerators, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural chemicals, as well as in polymer and coating applications.
