The modifications can be extensive. For example, a land-based aircraft might be navalized for carrier operations by adding features like a tailhook for arrested landings, folding wings for storage on an aircraft carrier, and stronger landing gear to withstand carrier landings. Similarly, a land vehicle might be navalized by adding corrosion-resistant materials, sealing components against saltwater intrusion, and ensuring it can be safely transported and launched from a ship.

Navalization can also apply to electronics, weapons systems, and even software. These adaptations ensure that the equipment can withstand the corrosive effects of saltwater and humidity, vibrations from ship operations, and the unique electromagnetic environment found at sea.
