NTAL

NTAL, also known as non-T cell activation linker, is a protein that plays a role in signal transduction within immune cells. It is a member of the LAT (linker of activated T cells) family of adaptor proteins. NTAL is primarily expressed in mast cells, basophils, eosinophils, and other myeloid cells, although it has also been detected in some other cell types.

The structure of NTAL includes several proline-rich domains and potential phosphorylation sites, which are crucial for its function in mediating protein-protein interactions and signal amplification. Upon activation of specific cell surface receptors, such as those for immunoglobulin E (IgE) or certain cytokines, NTAL becomes phosphorylated.
