NO2lähteiden is a Finnish term that translates to "sources of NO2" in English. NO2, or nitrogen dioxide, is a reddish-brown gas that is a significant air pollutant. Understanding its sources is crucial for developing effective strategies to reduce its presence in the atmosphere.

The primary sources of NO2 can be broadly categorized into natural and anthropogenic (human-caused) origins. Natural sources include lightning strikes, which generate high temperatures that can oxidize nitrogen and oxygen in the air, and volcanic activity, which releases various gases, including nitrogen oxides.
