N,N-Dimethylaniline, often abbreviated as DMA or DMAA, is an organic compound with the chemical formula (CH₃)₂NC₆H₅. It is a substituted aniline where the amino group has two methyl groups attached. It appears as a colorless to yellowish or brownish oily liquid with a characteristic fishy odor. DMA is miscible with most organic solvents but only slightly soluble in water.

Industrially, N,N-Dimethylaniline is primarily used as an accelerator or catalyst in the curing of unsaturated polyester resins and epoxy resins. It is also employed in the synthesis of dyes, particularly triphenylmethane dyes like malachite green and crystal violet. Other applications include its use as a solvent, a reagent in organic synthesis, and in the production of certain pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals. DMA is flammable and its vapors can form explosive mixtures with air. It is considered toxic and can be absorbed through the skin. Proper handling procedures, including adequate ventilation and personal protective equipment, are necessary when working with this chemical.
