NCAPD2
NCAPD2, also known as nuclear cap-binding complex assembly protein 2, is a protein encoded by the NCAPD2 gene. This gene is located on chromosome 5 and plays a role in the assembly of the nuclear cap-binding complex (CBC). The CBC is essential for the proper processing of messenger RNA (mRNA) in eukaryotes. Specifically, it binds to the 5' cap structure of nascent mRNA molecules, protecting them from degradation and facilitating their export from the nucleus to the cytoplasm.
The NCAPD2 protein is a component of the CBC, working alongside other subunits to ensure efficient mRNA
