Närvifunktsioon

Närvifunktsioon refers to the process by which nerve cells, also known as neurons, transmit information. This fundamental biological mechanism underlies all aspects of nervous system activity, from sensory perception and motor control to thought and emotion.

The transmission of information within a neuron occurs via electrical signals called action potentials. When a neuron is stimulated, it generates an electrical impulse that travels down its axon, a long projection. At the end of the axon, the electrical signal is converted into a chemical signal.
