Mörlenbach

Mörlenbach is a municipality in the Bergstraße district in Hesse, Germany. It is situated in the Odenwald hills, approximately 20 kilometers north of Heidelberg and 30 kilometers east of Mannheim. Mörlenbach is the largest municipality in the Bergstraße district by area.

The town's history dates back to the 12th century, with its first documented mention in 1156. Mörlenbach was historically a center for agriculture and forestry. Over time, it developed into a residential town with a growing industrial sector. The municipality as it exists today was formed in 1971 through the merger of several formerly independent villages, including Mörlenbach, Birkenau, and Niedernhausen.
