These quantities are essential for quantifying and comparing physical properties, enabling scientific understanding and technological advancement.

Fundamental quantities, as defined by systems like the International System of Units (SI), form the basis upon which all other quantities are derived. The seven SI base quantities are length, mass, time, electric current, thermodynamic temperature, amount of substance, and luminous intensity.
