Märgpesurid

Märgpesurid, also known as wet scrubbers, are air pollution control devices used to remove particulate matter and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams. They operate by using a scrubbing liquid, typically water, to trap or react with the pollutants. As the dirty gas enters the scrubber, it comes into contact with the scrubbing liquid. Particulate matter is captured by the liquid droplets or the liquid film. Gaseous pollutants can be removed either by dissolving into the liquid or by reacting with chemicals added to the liquid.

There are several types of märgpesur designs, each with its own advantages. Venturi scrubbers are highly efficient at removing fine particles. Packed bed scrubbers are effective for gas absorption and can handle large volumes of gas. Spray towers use a spray of liquid to wash the gas. Cyclonic spray scrubbers combine the principles of cyclone separators and spray towers. The choice of scrubber type depends on factors such as the nature of the pollutants, their concentration, and the required removal efficiency.

The scrubbing liquid, once laden with pollutants, is typically treated or disposed of. This may involve settling tanks, filtration, or chemical treatment to remove the captured contaminants before the liquid is recirculated or discharged. Märgpesurid are widely used in industries such as power generation, chemical manufacturing, and metal processing to meet environmental regulations and protect air quality. They offer a cost-effective solution for controlling a wide range of airborne pollutants.
