Muuttuu

Muuttuu is an abandoned residential complex, located in Red Square, Tallinn, Estonia. The name "Muuttuu" comes from the Finnish language, which is one of the two official languages spoken in Estonia. It is derived from the word "muuttaa", meaning "to move" or "to change".

Originally, Muuttuu was a residential complex built for the Russian Imperial Army and the Soviet military during the Soviet era. It was constructed in the 1950s and 1960s to provide housing for officers and other military personnel stationed in Tallinn. The complex was designed in a standard Soviet-style architecture, featuring long corridors, small apartments, and a communal courtyard.

After the Soviet Union collapsed, Muuttuu was left abandoned. Several attempts have been made to renovate the complex, but so far, they have been unsuccessful. Despite its abandoned state, Muuttuu remains a notable architectural feature in Tallinn's Red Square. The complex's condition has also led to concerns about urban decay and neglect in the city.
