Multiprotinstruktur refers to the arrangement and interaction of multiple protein molecules to form a functional complex. These complexes, also known as protein assemblies or supramolecular complexes, are essential for a vast array of biological processes. Unlike single proteins that perform specific tasks, multiprotein structures leverage the collective action and precise spatial organization of their constituent subunits to achieve more complex functions.

The formation of multiprotein structures is driven by specific molecular recognition events between protein interfaces. These interactions can be non-covalent, involving electrostatic forces, hydrogen bonds, hydrophobic interactions, and van der Waals forces. The stability and specificity of these interactions are crucial for the correct assembly and function of the complex.
