Multiplexált

Multiplexált is a term of Hungarian origin that translates to "multiplexed" in English. It refers to the process of combining multiple signals into a single data stream. This is a fundamental technique used in various communication systems to efficiently share a common transmission medium.

In telecommunications, multiplexing allows several users to share a single communication channel, such as a telephone line or a fiber optic cable, simultaneously. This significantly increases the capacity of the network and reduces costs by avoiding the need for dedicated lines for each individual communication. Common multiplexing techniques include time-division multiplexing (TDM), where different signals take turns using the channel for short periods, and frequency-division multiplexing (FDM), where different signals are assigned different frequency bands within the same channel.

Beyond telecommunications, the concept of multiplexing is also applied in other fields. For instance, in computing, it can refer to the ability of a processor to handle multiple tasks concurrently by rapidly switching between them. In digital broadcasting, multiplexing is used to combine multiple television or radio channels into a single transmission signal. The core principle remains the same: efficiently transmitting or processing multiple pieces of information over a shared resource.
