Multipleksimine

Multipleksimine, also known as multiplexing, is a technique used in telecommunications and computing to combine multiple signals or data streams into a single signal for transmission over a shared medium. This process allows for efficient use of bandwidth and resources, enabling multiple users or devices to share the same communication channel simultaneously. There are several types of multiplexing, each with its own method of combining signals.

Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) divides the available bandwidth into different frequency bands, each carrying a separate signal. Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) allocates time slots to different signals, allowing them to share the same channel by taking turns. Code Division Multiplexing (CDM) uses unique codes to distinguish between different signals, enabling them to coexist on the same channel. Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) is used in optical communications, where different wavelengths of light carry separate signals.

Multiplexing is widely used in various applications, including telephony, data transmission, and broadcasting. In telephony, FDM is used to combine multiple voice calls into a single transmission line. In data networks, TDM is employed to share bandwidth among multiple users. In broadcasting, FDM is used to transmit multiple television or radio channels over a single antenna.

Demultiplexing is the reverse process of multiplexing, where the combined signal is separated back into its original components. This allows the individual signals to be processed and utilized independently. Multiplexing and demultiplexing are essential techniques in modern communication systems, enabling efficient and reliable transmission of data and signals.
