Mpes
Mpes can refer to several things, most commonly a mobile money service. In many parts of Africa, particularly Kenya, M-Pesa is a leading mobile phone-based money transfer and financial services platform. Launched by Safaricom in 2007, it allows users to deposit, withdraw, transfer money, and pay for goods and services easily using a mobile phone, even without a bank account. The service operates through a network of agents, typically small shops, where users can conduct transactions. M-Pesa has significantly impacted financial inclusion, providing access to financial services for millions of people.
Beyond the mobile money service, "MPES" can also appear as an acronym or abbreviation in different contexts.
