Morzeábécé
Morzeábécé, often transliterated as morze-abc or morze-abeceda, refers to a simplified system of Morse code adapted for the Hungarian language. Unlike standard Morse code, which uses dots and dashes for Latin alphabet characters, morzeábécé incorporates unique dot and dash combinations for Hungarian diacritics and specific letters not found in the basic Latin alphabet. This adaptation aimed to facilitate telegraphic communication in Hungarian by directly representing its distinct phonetic elements.
The development of morzeábécé was crucial for the efficient transmission of Hungarian text over telegraph lines.
