Morfemdir

Morfemdir is a Turkish-language construction formed by combining morfem (morpheme) with the declarative copula suffix -dir. In Turkish, -dir (with allomorphs -dır, -dir, -dur, -dür) attaches to a noun or nominal phrase to mark a firm assertion or identification, functioning like the English verb “to be” in declarative sentences.

In practice, morfemdir would typically appear in sentences that define or classify a subject. An example is Bu kelime morfemdir, meaning “This word is a morpheme.” Here the subject is a noun phrase, and morfemdir provides the predicate, asserting that the subject possesses the property defined by morfem.

It serves to show how Turkish nominal predicates can be formed by attaching the copula suffix to a base noun.
