Monsunmechanismen
Monsunmechanismen refers to the physical processes that drive the Asian monsoon system. These mechanisms are primarily driven by differential heating between the landmasses of Asia and the surrounding oceans. During the summer months, the intense solar radiation heats the vast continental interior of Asia much more rapidly and to a greater extent than the Indian Ocean. This creates a region of low atmospheric pressure over land. Concurrently, the cooler oceans develop areas of higher pressure. The pressure gradient thus established causes moist, warm air to flow from the ocean towards the landmass. As this moist air is forced to rise over the heated land and its mountain ranges, it cools, leading to condensation and the formation of heavy rainfall, which is characteristic of the summer monsoon.
