Mitteärgeeritud

Mitteärgeeritud is an Estonian term that translates to "non-aggravated" or "not aggravated" in English. It is primarily used in legal contexts, particularly in criminal law, to describe offenses that do not possess certain aggravating factors. Aggravating factors are circumstances that make a crime more serious and can lead to harsher penalties.

In Estonia, a crime classified as mitteärgeeritud would lack elements such as intent to cause significant harm, the involvement of multiple perpetrators acting in concert, or the commission of the offense against a vulnerable victim. The absence of these or other legally defined aggravating circumstances means the offense is considered less severe than its aggravated counterpart.

For example, a theft might be considered mitteärgeeritud if it was a petty offense committed by an individual without prior convictions and without causing significant damage.
