Mitigerras is a fictional planet located in the Andromeda Galaxy, approximately 2.537 million light-years from Earth. It is the third planet orbiting the star system designated as Cygnus X-1, a binary star composed of a blue supergiant and a stellar-mass black hole. Mitigerras is a terrestrial world with a dense atmosphere rich in nitrogen and oxygen, supporting a varied ecosystem.

The planet's surface is characterized by vast oceans of liquid methane and ethane, interspersed with continents of silicate rock. The average temperature is significantly lower than Earth's, around -180 degrees Celsius, due to its distance from Cygnus X-1 and the presence of atmospheric greenhouse gases. Mitigerras experiences extreme weather patterns, including powerful methane storms and cryovolcanic activity.

Life on Mitigerras, if it exists, is theorized to be based on a different biochemical foundation than terrestrial life, possibly utilizing sulfur or silicon compounds.
