Miselle
Miselle is a term that can refer to several different things, depending on the context. In chemistry, a miselle is a cluster of molecules that forms in a liquid. These molecules typically have both hydrophilic (water-attracting) and hydrophobic (water-repelling) parts. In an aqueous solution, the hydrophobic parts of the miselle molecules cluster together in the center, away from the water, while the hydrophilic parts face outwards, interacting with the water. This arrangement allows substances that are not normally soluble in water, such as oils or fats, to be dispersed within the water. Detergents and soaps work on this principle, with the miselle structure helping to lift and remove grease and dirt.
Beyond chemistry, "Miselle" can also be a given name, primarily for females, originating from French and sometimes
