Mikroszkópokat, which translates to "microscopes" in English, are instruments used to view objects that are too small to be seen by the naked eye. These devices work by using lenses or a combination of lenses to magnify a specimen, revealing intricate details of its structure.

The fundamental principle behind most microscopes is optical magnification. Light passes through or reflects off a specimen, and then through a series of lenses, projecting an enlarged image onto the observer's eye or a camera. The most common type is the compound light microscope, which uses two sets of lenses: the objective lens (close to the specimen) and the eyepiece lens (close to the eye). By adjusting the distance between these lenses and the specimen, different levels of magnification can be achieved.

Beyond light microscopes, more advanced technologies exist. Electron microscopes, for instance, use beams of electrons instead of light, offering significantly higher resolutions and magnifications. This allows for the visualization of structures at the atomic and molecular level. Different types of electron microscopes, such as the transmission electron microscope (TEM) and the scanning electron microscope (SEM), provide distinct imaging capabilities.

Microscopes have been instrumental in numerous scientific advancements.
