Mikrolevät, also known as microalgae, are a diverse group of microscopic photosynthetic organisms found in both marine and freshwater environments. They are single-celled or colonial, exhibiting a wide range of shapes, sizes, and colors. These tiny organisms play a crucial role in aquatic ecosystems as primary producers, forming the base of many food webs.
