These records are often referred to as 10-inch LPs or sometimes even smaller, non-standard 12-inch formats that don't quite reach the full 12-inch diameter.

Mezzaninelevyjä are distinguished from standard 12-inch LPs by their reduced size, which affects the amount of music that can be accommodated on each side.
