Metrahizium
Metarhizium is a genus of mitosporic fungi in the order Hypocreales. These fungi are known for their ability to infect and kill insects, making them important entomopathogens. Species within the Metarhizium genus are widespread in soil environments across the globe. They are recognized for their green conidia, which is a characteristic that gives some species their common names, such as "green muscardine fungus."
The life cycle of Metarhizium involves the germination of conidia on the insect cuticle, followed by the
