Mentességgel

Mentességgel is a Hungarian term used primarily in legal and administrative language. It translates roughly as “with exemption” or “under exemption” and functions as the instrumental form of the noun mentesség (exemption). The construction combines mentesség with the instrumental suffix -éggel to express the manner or condition under which something is done or applies.

In usage, mentességgel signals that an individual, organization, or activity operates under an exemption from a rule, obligation, tax, fee, or duty. It appears in formal texts to describe eligibility, privileges, or procedural relief granted by law or regulation. It is common in tax, social security, licensing, and procurement documents, where it helps differentiate exempt status from ordinary obligations.

Examples of usage include references to exemptions in taxation or administrative relief: for instance, a taxpayer may be described as operating “mentességgel,” i.e., exempt from certain charges; a beneficiary may have “mentességgel járó kedvezmények” (exemption-related benefits).
