Membersvocalist

Membersvocalist is a descriptor used in music circles to identify a vocalist who is an official member of a band or group. It contrasts with roles such as guest vocalist, session vocalist, or touring vocalist, who contribute on a temporary or non-member basis. A membersvocalist typically serves as one of the primary vocalists for the group, performing on most recordings and live shows, and may participate in rehearsals, arranging, writing, and promotional activities. In bands with multiple vocalists, one or more members can share lead or co-lead duties, making them membersvocalists by virtue of membership. Some groups label "vocalist" as a role independent of membership for touring or session projects; in such cases the term helps clarify whether the vocalist has formal ties to the group. The term is not widely standardized and is more common in informal writing, fan wikis, and media commentary than in official industry vocabulary. It can also reflect historical or ongoing membership: a vocalist who joined the group after its formation and remains a member qualifies, while a guest artist appearing on a single track does not.
