Megkérdezhetség

Megkérdezhetőség, meaning "askability" or "questionability" in Hungarian, refers to the quality or state of being open to being asked a question. It is not a formally recognized academic term but is used in informal contexts to describe situations or individuals where posing a question is appropriate, welcomed, or possible. The concept can be applied to various scenarios. For instance, a person might have high megkérdezhetőség if they are approachable and willing to engage in dialogue. Conversely, a situation might have low megkérdezhetőség if it is sensitive, private, or if there is a perceived power imbalance that discourages inquiry. The opposite of megkérdezhetőség could be considered a situation where questions are unwelcome, difficult to ask, or where the subject matter is considered taboo or off-limits. Ultimately, it's about the perceived openness and receptiveness to being questioned, reflecting a dynamic between the questioner and the questioned, or between an inquirer and a topic.
