MediaSaturn
MediaSaturn was a Japanese video game console developed and manufactured by Sega. It was released in Japan in 1994 and was the successor to the Sega Genesis. The console was designed to compete with the Sony PlayStation and the Nintendo 64. MediaSaturn featured a 32-bit central processing unit and a custom graphics processor, which allowed it to produce high-quality graphics and sound. The console had a built-in CD-ROM drive, which allowed it to play games on CD-ROMs, as well as a cartridge slot for games that used RAM cartridges. MediaSaturn was released in Japan only, and it was not a commercial success. It was discontinued in 1996, and Sega focused on the Dreamcast console for its next-generation efforts. Despite its limited success, MediaSaturn is considered an important part of Sega's history and has a dedicated fanbase.
